An update of sorts...

It's been f.o.r.e.v.e.r. since I've updated or posted anything on my blog. I feel bad about that. Life just gets busy. We just finished up the Spring baseball season. For anyone wondering if you should have 3 boys play on 3 different teams, don't. It was hard getting to practices and games, plus getting Joanna to ballet, and oh, throw homeschooling in there too. :) Well, I survived, and the boys did well. Josiah's team (12 under), went undefeated all season! They got some really neat trophies. Joey's team (10 under), won a big tournament. Josh's team didn't do as great, but he did well considering he never played baseball before. Joy and Julia are doing very well. They are full of energy, and keep me hopping all day! In another month, we'll be headed to Family Camp in Missouri, Lord willing. We're all looking forward to that. :) I know there is so much more to be said, but I'm just going to leave off right here and hopefully I will keep up better throughout the rest of the summer and into fall.

We're back from vacation in one piece! :) It's great to be home. Although, I do have to get back into my routine, and that is very hard when one is tired. Sigh...
We've had a few days of rain now and it's getting old. The kids and I are feeling cooped up. We do get to go to a friends house this evening for a birthday party, so that will be nice.
Right now I'm trying to plan my menu and shopping list for the next 2 weeks. It's hard coming up with good, nutritous, affordable foods my family will enjoy.
It was great to be back at the chapel last night. I really, really missed my church family while we were gone. I especially missed my fellow homeschool moms and sisters in Christ.
I'm going to ask for some prayers for my hubby. He has some health issues going on, and it's been very difficult for us. Thanks!
Well, signing off to go make breakfast....bye y'all.

So I thought I'd update...

To all of my fans, who made my blog so popular. You know who you are. :) (I think there is just 2 people who read this blog). Anywhoo... life has been a little crazy here in Oklahoma. My 3 oldest kids spent the first 2 weeks of June at Sooner Bible Camp. They had such a good time. It is really awesome when they come home talking not just about all their camp activities, but also about the Bible lessons and the things they learned from Gods word. It's exciting to see spiritual growth in my children. Thanks, Lord! I get to be a part of it, and it's a blessing!

My husband has been struggling with some depression, so I would appreciate prayer for him. He is taking medicine for it, so he's doing a bit better.

My son, Joey is playing summer baseball. I know I'm so biased, but he rocks! The other night, he played pitcher and got 2 strikeouts(one word, or two?) Most of the time, he plays 2nd base. He really is good at it. Mom brag over.

Next week, Lord willing, we are going on vacation!!! We are headed to St. Louis to go to Six Flags. We are blessed that we got free tickets by doing the Six Flags reading program over the winter months. They even gave teachers free tickets! So we'll just have to pay for hubby and littlest daughters admission. Oh, plus parking, souvenirs, food/drinks....sigh... :) After St. Louis we're heading to Iowa(as long as the flood waters are down), and visiting Jeff's family. We haven't seen them in a while. The kids are excited about visiting Grandma Sally and Grandpa Dave. :) So hopefully, everything will go well, and we'll have a great time.

We're in the home stretch now

Wowee! April 28th already! Our last day of school, which is May 14th, is coming up quickly. And you know what--I'm like totally okay with that. :) It's been a very busy school year. We have added quite a few extra-cirricula activities this past year, and they are all winding down. Let's see, in the fall, the 3 boys played flag football, Joanna joined ballet, all 5 older children were in homeschool choir, Joseph was in tutoring this last semester, and we had other various activities sprinkled through the year. We are still going to continue schooling somewhat throughout the summer, but it's not going to be a 4-5 hour long deal. My 6 year old, Joy, wants to read so badly, so I'm going to teach her. My boy Joey, needs more reading help, so we'll do that. The boys and Joanna are going to be doing math worksheets to keep them remembering the stuff we learned this past year. But, we are going to be relaxed and not so rigidly scheduled. Ah, the kids are rejoicing. :)
I'm so grateful to be a homeschool family. The Lord has been very kind and good to us. We have learned some new things that remind us of how awesome God is.

~*~*Prayer Request~*~*

My dear hubby(Jeff) is having surgery tomorrow(Friday 3/4). He is having his gall bladder removed and a umbilical hernia repaired. This is a laproscopic procedure, but there is always the risk that it will become an "open" procedure. Please pray that all will go well, and he'll be feeling better soon. Thanks so much!!!

At the Grandparents...

We are visiting my parents this weekend through Wednesday morning. I hope to post some pics soon of Joshua and Susannah(his cousin, who turned 13 yesterday), birthday party. It was a lot of fun, filled with presents, yummy food and birthday cake. :)

I am now the mom of teenager!

Please tell me where the time went? Yesterday, he was a toddling little boy watching "Winnie The Pooh", today he is 13. I'm so grateful for my son, Josh. He is a delight to me. Happy Birthday, son.
